Seats & Reservations

16 seats are available for each event.  A minimum of 12 participants is required for each event.  You must reserve your spot by contacting Cat & Mouse Game Store at 773-384-4454 or linda@cat-n-mouse.com.

Players may participate in more than one preliminary event in an effort to secure a spot in the final four. However, to ensure that as many people as possible get a chance to participate, a player may reserve a spot in only one event at a time. Once the player has completed that event, they are free to reserve a spot in the next open event.

Prizes

The winner from each preliminary event will advance to the Cat & Mouse Catan Final. Small prizes such as promotional items from Mayfair will also be awarded.

Tournament Details

Each participant will play 3 games during a preliminary event, and each table will use identical game boards within each round. Players will face different opponents for each game, and every effort will be made to make sure each table has 4 players.

4th edition rules will be used. The following clarifies common points of confusion:

  • A “7” moves the robber on the first roll of the game. There is no “grace period” during players’ first turns.
  • Players may trade and build in any order, and may do so multiple times in any order.
  • Players may use ports on the same turn that they are obtained.
  • The robber MAY be moved to the desert by a player (new with the 4th edition rules).

We will use the scoring used in the World Championship event. The order and ranking are based on (by importance):

  • Number of wins: Two first-places beats all one first-place players
  • Number of points: Sum of points across all games
  • Percentage of points (PoP): Average percentage of points the person scored in each of their games
